Our Team
Dr. Kelsey Stokes
Veterinarian
Dr. Kelsey Stokes has been passionate about animals for as long as she can remember, knowing from a young age that she wanted to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. After graduating from Sterlington High School in 2011, she began working in the veterinary field, eager to gain experience. She went on to complete her undergraduate studies at Louisiana Tech University before being accepted into veterinary school. In 2018, she earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine and returned to Monroe to begin her professional career. For several years, Dr. Stokes worked in general small animal practice, but her interest in emergency medicine grew stronger over time. In 2024, she joined forces with other local veterinarians to open Premier Pet Emergency Clinic in Monroe. Veterinary medicine is an integral part of who Dr. Stokes is. Her favorite aspect of being a veterinarian is the opportunity to build strong relationships with both her clients and their pets. She focuses on treating the whole animal, addressing every concern an owner may have, speaking up for her patients, and educating pet owners about their pets’ health needs. Her deep passion for the field drives her to mentor staff and aspiring veterinary professionals, helping them build fulfilling careers. For Dr. Stokes, opening The Parish Pet Clinic is the realization of a lifelong dream. She has always aspired to run her own practice and is thrilled to have created a place that she can call home and work alongside exceptional people for the rest of her career.
Outside of work, Dr. Stokes enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends. She is married to her high school sweetheart, Benjamin Stokes, and together they are blessed with three wonderful children: Bennett, Catherine, and Bishop
Emily
Vet Tech
After earning a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM), Emily began her veterinary career in 2023, training under the guidance of Dr. Stokes. Since then, she’s been finding fulfillment in every aspect of her job. For Emily, working with animals has always been a dream come true, but it’s the incredible team environment that truly elevates her career. She values the opportunity to work alongside a group of professionals who are not only enthusiastic but also empathetic and supportive. The camaraderie and warmth of the team are the aspects of her work that she cherishes most. Outside of work, she shares her life with Cassie, a Terrier Mix who brings immense joy and companionship. Cassie is a constant reminder of the love and connection animals bring into our lives, and she couldn’t imagine a day without her.

Brittany is a dedicated professional with four years of experience in the veterinary field. Throughout her career, Brittany has found her greatest joy in the relationships and bonds she builds with both customers and their pets. She thrives in creating an environment where trust and care are at the forefront, ensuring both pets and their owners feel valued and understood. Outside of work, Brittany is a proud mother to a free-spirited five-year-old who keeps her on her toes and a loving companion to her 14-year-old Chiweenie. Her passion for animals and commitment to fostering strong connections extend not only to her professional life but to her personal experiences as well.
